Ottawa Micro Wedding – Lori + Grant

What is a Micro Wedding?

The lines between elopement, micro wedding and intimate wedding are often blurred. It’s important to note and a Micro Wedding is a celebration with between 10-50 guests.

These  unique and intimate gatherings are becoming more popular. As a result, my love for them has grown exponentially during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I enjoy them primarily because they bring the focus back onto what’s most important during a wedding: the couple.

The biggest advantage to a Micro Wedding is that you are saving money on your guest count and catering, so you can spend more on the things that are important to you.

Temples Winter Wedding

Lori and Grant are no strangers to the country lifestyle. In fact, they are avid hunters, campers and even make their own maple syrup. They decided to get married at Temples Sugarbush, a beautiful and welcoming venue in Lanark County that reflected their story so well.

Their Winter Wedding was as magical as it could possibly be in mid-February. Lori dreamed of a winter wonderland wedding and getting married outside. Her dream came true when the weather cooperated and gave us beautiful sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures for her day.

Friends and family gathered at the outdoor ceremony location, which was beautifully decorated with flowers from Amethyst florals. Everyone was grinning under their masks as Lori walked down the long aisle in her beautiful dress.

Everything about this day reflected their love story and how two families have come together. Despite the COVID regulations preventing many of their original plans, Lori and Grant celebrated their Micro Wedding in style. The DJ was truly a testament to the way music can keep a small crowd entertained without being allowed to dance.

When people ask me why I choose to do this job, I tell them about couples and micro weddings like Liro and Grant’s. It was seriously such an honor to be there.

I love the amount of care and detail that went into this wedding. Every little piece of decor, every vendor and guest was chosen to make this day as special as possible.

As always, the vendor team who came together made this wedding unique and beautiful.
