I met Sara a couple of years ago. Fun Fact, we used to work together. So, when she reached out to me about photographing her wedding (and subsequently, her engagement session), I was ecstatic! I had not met one person who disliked her and it’s easy to see why.
She is bubbly, but takes no nonsense. Brave and passionate. Wild in the best way and does everything with intention. Because of that, I can see why Barrett fell in love with her. He is a kind soul, who loves to fish. Barrett is generous and doles out smiles easily (especially when he’s looking at Sara). COVID has affect so many things in the wedding industry, but I knew Sara would get through all the problems that this year has brought on for couples.
These two met in Kingston in student housing and they have that location engraved on their wedding rings. If that isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever heard, we can’t be friends.
Avid campers, they often have their yellow canoe with them, as well as their dog Denver. When Sarah asked me if she could bring either or both, I could not say yes fast enough.
Fast forward to walking through the arboretum with a bright yellow canoe from Holy Cow Canoe Company, a bag full of props and their sweet dog, as a result, I was in heaven. Their engagement session was truly one of my all time favourites. Their willingness to do anything and enthusiasm made for the perfect night. They came prepared in the most perfect fall outfits – it’s like they read my engagement session guide!
Shooting their engagement session after COVID had forced them to postpone their fall wedding was bittersweet. It’s going to be difficult for me to narrow down their gallery though, since there are so many sweet and funny moments. I know this is just a fraction of what their wedding will look like. Full of smiles, laughs and love. I cannot wait to celebrate with you guys and your families.
