I had the opportunity to shoot for Nat Spencer, a photographer I’ve been following for a while now and to say that I was excited is an understatement. I am humbled to be able to work alongside amazing people like her and cannot wait to do it again!
Melissa and Scott are something out of a fairytale. They met while working at Nokia a couple of years ago. Staring off by sharing their lunch hour as jogging buddies, friends of the bride would constantly bug Melissa when she got back from the run, begging for details. Naturally it took some time (notably because they worked in the same department at the time.) Once Scott had moved departments, they decided to give this thing a shot and here they are now, happily married and so in obviously in love, I couldn’t restrain myself from smiling all day long.
Melissa got ready at the Brookstreet hotel in Kanata, just minutes away from their venue, The Marshes Golf Club. Withs a beautiful arch and the perfect ceremony location, they shared their vows and signed the documents while a friend sang the most beautiful rendition of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.
Once the happy couple walked down that aisle, it was time for portraits and this is when they shone. The grounds proved to be the perfect backdrop and the newlyweds the perfect subjects. Can you even handle how sweet they are? The way Scott looks at her makes me melt!
Naturally, the speeches had me in tears and I hid behind my camera but we snuck out at sunset for some dreamy golden hour images. It was magical and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Melissa is very much a DIY Savant and made a lot froth decor herself. She loves to fish and together, they spend a lot of time canoeing on lakes, fishing and camping. Their friends and family are vibrant and so happy to be a part of this beautiful day.
So here’s to you guys and you happy marriage. Cheers y’all!
