Aimee + Bobby

I had the pleasure of second shooter for my good friend Leesa from LW Imaging a few weeks ago. Not only was it fun to work a real wedding with her, this wedding in particular was totally one for the books. Aimee and Bobby are the sweetest, most well-rounded and happiest couple ever!

They met while she was visiting Ottawa (Hello she’s a California native!) for a friends wedding but it wasn’t until the day after that they hit it off. That was May of last year so they spent a large chunk of their relationship as long distance until Aimee finally made the decision to move to Ottawa (in a snowstorm no less!). Their proposal was out of a fairytale. While Aimee had planned a girls trip to Mexico where Bobby was going to join later, he decided to make his move. He flew out a week early from the original plan and made his way to the beach. Surrounded by candles as Aimee – who’d planned on sipping wine and watching the sunset – spotted him. So the girls trip ended early… but I don’t think anyone complained.

Hanging out with good throwback tunes, strong drinks, espresso and laughs was how the groom’s morning started. A few minutes prior to departure time, Jose, Bobby’s soon to be father-in-law walked in with Big Macs and fries from McDonald’s for everyone! Talk about a hero.

We stopped over at the dominion Greenhouses for a first look and some formals; which they ROCKED! We had the best bridal party – the boys even helped the bride in and out of her boots by kneeling down and making a bench for her. I knew chivalry wasn’t dead! After the first look, we went to the wonderful ceremony at Lago Bar & Grill (at Dow’s Lake with a beautiful view) , where the staff outdid themselves for their first wedding of the season!

Their first dance as husband and wife was to the beautiful song “ I can’t help falling in love” by Kina Grannis from the award winning movie Crazy Rich Asians. The perfect start to a wonderful marriage! The dance floor quickly filled up and stayed that way all night long.

We kicked off their day with some tequila shots with our wonderful bride and groom. I couldn’t have asked for a better way start to the 2019 wedding season!
