Today is all about these two amazing people. Jessie is a generous, kind hearted, warm person. She’s the kind of woman who will always welcome you into her home with open arms and a stiff drink. Ira is the quiet and sarcastic half to her boisterous and adventurous personality. He would always prefer to be sipping on a whiskey, listening to others and making remarks under his breath that you tend to catch a little too late and laugh way too hard at.
About a year and a half ago, they bought their dream home in Carlton Place. It is a heritage home in the beautiful rustic city. That brings on its own challenges. The home is 150 years old and until they came along, hadn’t been lived in for 50 years. They spent a harsh winter without heat, hot water or the better part of a roof. The home needed to be lifted, plumbing ripped apart and replaced, roof fixed and SO MUCH MORE. They put countless hours, blood, sweat and tears and she’s till not complete. I think it was the PERFECT place for their wedding. And the perfect metaphor for marriage. There will always be new challenges to face and hardships to work through but in the end, all that matters in the person beside you.
Onto their day. Jessie and her girls got ready at a beautiful Airbnb in Almonte. Ira got ready in their home with his close friends. The pair decided to do a first look at the Airbnb and it was a magical as I had envisioned it. Their ceremony took place in their stunning backyard. Despite the pouring rain, friends and family gathered to watch them take the plunge into married life.
Since Jessie is a cook, the food was obviously amazing. it pays to know people in the industry and it was such a delicious evening! The dance floor was bumping all night long, thanks to their live band, Hillbilly Deluxe! As a side note, can we please bring back live bands at weddings?
All in all, it could not have been a more magical day and I am forever grateful that they allowed me to be a part of it. Cheers to you guys, and may your home forever be filled with the memories of this day.
